Over 129,000 additional homes in Missouri now have access to Renovate America's HERO financing to improve their homes with energy efficiency upgrades. Learn more about how HERO works.
Since launching in Missouri in late 2016, HERO financing has been used for more than 1,000 home improvements such as energy-efficient air conditioners, window replacements, and home solar panels. It's estimated that these improvements have generated $17 million in economic activity and created 80 local jobs.
"We know the products are out there, but the missing piece has been financing," explains Ashok Guptka, Senior Economist at the Natural Resources Defense Council, on the gap that HERO financing addresses. "I think it will really help meet that need in the marketplace."

By making homes more energy efficient, HERO financed upgrades in Missouri are on track to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by almost 30,000 tons over the useful life of the upgrades.
"HERO is creating jobs, saving families money on their energy bills and giving homeowners a new way to invest in their homes and neighborhoods," says David Pickerill, Executive Director for the Missouri Clean Energy District.
The new communities where HERO financing will now be available include the cities of Columbia, Jefferson City, and areas of central Missouri. They join the existing communities where HERO is already active, including Kansas City, Springfield, and St. Louis.
